Discover Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria and Germany from Lake Constance to glacier ice! During this Alpensternfahrt you will see the most famous sights with the Island of Mainau, the Rhaetian Railway will take you to the alpine metropolis, you will taste the Appenzell Alpine Bittern and the mountain cheese in the Bregenzerwald.


Program:

 

Day 1: Arrival to Feldkirch in Vorarlberg

In the hotel you will be greeted with a warm "Grüß Gott" and receive first information about your stay; A welcome drink and dinner.

 

Day 2: Excursion Feldkirch - Liechtenstein and Appenzell

You start the day with an excursion to Feldkirch and go through the narrow streets and squares. Afterwards, we go to Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein, with a small tour through the "Städtle". Over the beautiful forest road you come to Wildhaus and the Schwägalp with a great view over the Alps. Possibility to take the cableway to the Säntis (optional - it goes at 2,500 m). Afterwards visit a cheese factory in Appenzell. Here you can try the soothing Appenzeller Alpine Bitters and learn all about it. Over the impulse and Altstätten we return to Feldkirch. Dinner and overnight.

 

Day 3: excursion of the Flexen and Hochtannbergpass - Bregenzerwald

Today we continue through the Walgau via the Flexenpass (1773 m) to the famous winter sports resorts of Zürs and Lech, where many prominent families spend their winter holidays. The road closed in the winter to Warth will take you safely over the Hochtannbergpass (1676m) into the hilly Bregenzerwald. Here you can taste the famous "mountain cheese". By Bezau you arrive in Schwarzenberg, a very small, beautiful place with a lovely village center. Over the Bödele you will reach Dornbirn in the Rhine valley and enjoy the view over Lake Constance from the way.

 

Day 4: Excursion (partial route by train) - Rhätische Bahn - St. Moritz - Via Mala

Today we will take you to the Swiss Graubünden with its imposing mountains. Passing Chur, the oldest city in Switzerland, you come to Tiefencastel. Here you climb the Rhaetian Railway and take the Glacier Express route to St. Moritz, the metropolis of the Alps, on the famous Albula route (2312 m). As the Engadine is already on the south side of the Alps, there is a particularly high number of sundays. Take the bus back across the Julier Pass (2284 m) and see Via Mala (the largest gorge in the Eastern Alps). Return to Feldkirch, dinner and overnight.

 

Day 5: Lake Constance - Constance - Mainau Island - Lindau

Today you will enjoy the ride along the Swiss Lake Constance, past the small villages with pretty half-timbered houses until you land in Constance. Afterwards, you will continue your journey and visit the Mainau flower island (free stay). Then we take our bus on the ferry from Konstanz to Meersburg. Past the wine and hop plantations along Lake Constance you reach Lindau, the city on the island. A walk along the harbor with a magnificent view of the Swiss Alps completes your visit to the Swabian Sea.

 

Day 6: Travel home

With many impressions in your luggage, you leave Feldkirch and embark on your journey home.
