Day 1: ARRIVAL IN Bregenz/ Austria


Afternoon:  Enjoy a guided city tour, get to know the history of the cultural city by the lake with selected buildings, stories and anecdotes.

In the evening: performance "Carmen".

Georges Bizet's captivating music with its Spanish sounds took the world by storm: Carmen's Habanera and Seguidilla, like Escamillo's Toreador's Song, are known to one and all. The French composer's most successful opera will be staged at Bregenz with a set designed by British artist Es Devlin. She has designed sets for pop stars like Ad le, U2, Take That, the Pet Shop Boys and Kanye West. In collaboration with the stage director Kasper Holten, Director of Opera at the Royal Opera House in London, she has also worked at opera houses in Helsinki and Copenhagen, at the Theater an der Wien and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.

Lake Constance, lying below the northern edge of the Alps, is by far the largest lake in Germany. Also bordered by Austria and Switzerland, it offers strikingly beautiful scenery with its majestic expanse of water encompassing some 270 kilometers of shoreline, by far the greatest share of it in Germany.


The largest and deepest part of the lake, the Obersee, extends from Bregenz Bay to Konstanz and is fringed by numerous old lakeside towns and attractive villages with incredible views of the Swiss Alps. Long a center for water sports - it's particularly popular among sailing enthusiasts - the area is rich in culture and history and boasts many old castles, quaint medieval villages, and beautiful gardens, and draws hikers and nature lovers from far and wide.
